Elizabeth Gertrude Dunlap married James Ezra McMenis, son of James Henry McMenis and Frances Indiana Adeline "Fannie" Key, on February 5, 1922 at Pike County, AR. [He was 24. She was 26.]. Elizabeth Gertrude Dunlap died on May 28, 1981 at a hospital, Greenville, Washington County, MS. She was buried on May 30, 1981 at Kirby Cemetery, Kirby, Pike County, AR. [Normally when you look down at a couple's gravesite, the husband is on your left and the wife is on your right. When Gertrude's husband Ezra died, she had him buried one space to the left of "her babies" so she could be buried next to her babies when she died. When Gertrude died, she was buried in the rocky hillside of Kirby Cemetery. As with all graves in that area, hers had to be dug with the help of dynamite. So an expert had to carefully blow out Gertrude's grave without blowing up the babies (to Gertrude's right) and Ezra (on Gertrude's left).]. The following obituary was published in The Murfreesboro Diamond, Murfreesboro, Pike County, AR, on June 4, 1981:
