She is mentioned in the 1850 Greenville SC Census as a widow (age 30) living with her daughters, Mary E. (age 8) and Harriet Elizabeth (age 7) and a son, Andrew Jackson (age 6). There were three other children of Harrison not shown in the census: William L. (age 4), Richard A.F.H. (age 2) and Elizabeth "Puss". She moved to Coweta County, Georgia some time after the death of her husband and before December 14, 1855. On December 14, 1855 she went along with some Brasher families including the family of her Uncle Aquilla Brasher and moved to Fayette County, Alabama. Frances E. Henderson married David Berry Esq. on April 15, 1857 at Fayette County, AL. Frances E. Henderson died on May 17, 1885 at Fayette County, AL, at age 67. She was buried at Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery, Fayette County, AL. The following summary of her life was provided by a long-time family researcher: "Frances E. Henderson was born January 10, 1818, in South Carolina. She was the third child of Brashier Henderson and his wife Elizabeth Long. The Greenville Mountaineer on January 24, 1840, reported that Miss Frances Henderson married Mr. Harrison Long on January 9, 1840. William Pollard, Esq. performed the marriage ceremony. They were all of the Greenville, South Carolina District. Brashier Henderson's estate was administered on July 19, 1847, by his son Henry L. Henderson. Payments were made to Elizabeth Henderson, E.C. Henderson, S.P. Henderson, R.H. Long (husband of Frances Henderson) and W.C. Henderson. Per the inscription on his wife's tombstone, Harrison Long's first name was Richard. Tradition has it that Richard Harrison Long was killed on January 22, 1851 by accident while carrying a crosscut saw on horseback. He was buried in Greenville, South Carolina, with no marker. Frances E. Henderson Long had six children by her marriage to Richard Harrison Long. Her children's names were Mary E. (born January 5, 1841) Harriet Elizabeth (born August 29, 1942), Andrew Jackson (born April 29, 1844), William L. "Bill" (born April 15, 1846, Richard A.F.H. (born January 8, 1848) and Elizabeth "Puss." She left Greenville, South Carolina, with her children and for a while lived in Coweta County, Georgia. The Fayette County, Alabama, 150 Yesteryear (publ. 1971) Vol. II had reference to a widow Long who along with some Brashier families left Coweta, Georgia, on December 14, 1855 and arrived in Fayette County, Alabama, on January 1, 1856. On April 15, 1857, Frances Elizabeth Long married David Berry Esq. Their names appear on the 1860 census for Fayette County, Alabama. Frances Elizabeth Long Berry was a charter member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Fayette County, Alabama. She died on May 17, 1885, and was buried between her husband David Berry and her daughter Harriet Long Townsend. An Inscription on her tombstone reads, 'by her affectionate son W.L.
