He and his brothers and sisters were sent to live with their Grandfather Stokes and their Uncle Robert League. George married Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Moon in 1876 when he was 21 and she was 17. This family is known for it's love of music. They had a piano in the home and either Judson, Mary or Helen would accompany all the family singing. George died of a stroke in 1926 and Elizabeth died of a stroke one year later. Their youngest daughter Helen and her sister Florence were living at home at the time and cared for them in their last days.
