Crowley, section foreman on the first section of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad south of Decatur, was found dead on the track this morning, having been run over by the cars and ground to a pulp. The evidence tended to show that the deceased was under the influence of whiskey and either was placed on the trracks by two tramps after being robbed, or else layed down and went to sleep and was run over by the trains. The man was about 30 years old and well connected, having married the daughter of Ike Thompson of Trinity. |
