Rebecca Isaacs married Nathaniel Reed.
There is no known proof that Rebeccas Isaacs married Nathaniel Reed. However, according to Dot Barnum jmgk37a@@prodigy.com, one of the authors of A Reed-Robins Family of the Southeastern US there are two pieces of informaiton that might support the marriage. "What we have is two bits of information: Nathaniel Reed appears in the 1761 tax digest with Elijah/Elisha Isaacs. The other is from family tradition. Asa Reed, b. 1793, was the son of William Reed and Frances Robins. His descendants have a family story that he was related to General Daniel Morgan. Tom Morgan wrote me that Samuel Isaac's grandson married Daniel Morgan's niece. Aryl is not convinced, and thinks that Nathaniel may have married before coming in contact with the Isaacs family. Our real problem is that Nathaniel descended from the Heavens to NC. We just can't prove his origins. We met in Raleigh in November and spent a week at the Archives going through loose papers trying to find some clue ... no luck. We did go see Polecat Creek and the Centre Meeting House." [The other authors of the book are: Kay Reed Bedford, Aryl Jeanne Reed and Glenda Swaim. ]. |
