Captain Nicholas Orrick was born on May 1, 1725 at Westminster Parish, Anne Arundel County, MD. He was the son of John Orrick and Susannah Hammond. Captain Nicholas Orrick married Hannah Cromwell, daughter of Captain John Cromwell and Hannah Rattenbury, on May 1, 1749.      He served with distinction as Capt of the Baltimore Co. Troops in the Colonial War 1756; and was a zealousand liberal Churchman, for many years a Vestryman of old St.Thomas, Garrison Forrest. Captain Nicholas Orrick married Mary Bell on March 16, 1769. Captain Nicholas Orrick died on February 1, 1781 at Saint Paul's Parish, Baltimore County, MD, at age 55.
