James 'Jim' Burke was born in 1834 at Sevier County, AR. He was the son of William Burke and Nancy ______. James 'Jim' Burke married Rebecca McCravens on September 7, 1853. James 'Jim' Burke married Elizabeth McCravens Baker in 1870. James 'Jim' Burke died in 1912. He was buried at Overturf Cemetery, Gillham, Sevier County, AR.      3500 Years of Burkes on page 72, states that 'Jim Burke lived in Jefferson Township when the 1860 census was taken. By 1870, he had moved to South Paraclifta Township, still in Sevier County. His grandmother, Elizabeth, lived with him in 1860 and just before her death in January 1870. Jim and his family moved to southern Polk County by 1880. He lived there until his death in 1912. Jim and his two wives are buried at the Overturf Cemebery near Gillham, Arkansas.'
