Will Book A page 123. Last Will and Testament of S.B. Ellis. Dated August
3rd 1885. "I give, devise and bequeath my estate and property, real and
personal, as follows, that is to say, to my wife Nancy Ann Ellis I give and
bequeath all of the title and interest in my homestead known as the North
West quarter of Section Twnety-four in Township Eight, South of Range
Twenty-five West, except as hereinafter set forth. To my son Ephriam A.J.
Ellis I give and bequeath to his use and possesion free of any rents or
charges the South East quarter of the North West quarter and the East half
of the South West quarter of the North West quarter of Secton twenty-four in
Township eight, South of Range twenty-five West, for the term of fifteen
years, and at the expiration of fifteen years from the sealing of these
presents, the title, use, possession and control of said land shall revert
back to his mother Nancy Ann Ellis." He then disposes of personal property.
"I appoint Ephriam A.J. Ellis of Pike County, Arkansas whose occupation is
that of a farmer, Executor of this my Will." Witnesses, J.D. Meeks, J.J.
Craig (and) R.H. Hoover. October 17th 1885. Before the Clerk of the Probate
Court came J.D. Meeks and R.H. Hoover who first being duly sworn by me,
depose and say, that we saw S.B. Ellis sign the foregoing instrument of
writing, he at the time declaring the same to be his last Will and Testament
and we at the rquest of said testator, and in his presence of, and in the
presence of each other, signed the same as attesting witnesses, and we
verily believe the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory
at the time of signing, as aforesaid. Subscribed and sworn to &c. Etc.
