Will Book A page 118. Last Will and Testament of Simpson Adams. Dated
October 10th 1884. "After paying for my burial in a decent manner and paying
all just debts, I give and bequeath unto H.S. Adams and W.L. Adams the
following tract of land, namely: the West fractional half of fractional
Section two (2) and the North West quarter of the North West quarter of
Section eleven (11) in Township Six (6) South of Range Twenty-four West
containing one hundred and fifty two acres and fifteen hundredths of an
acre." He bequeaths personal property and cash to others. "And I appoint
William M. Adams Executor of this my last Will and Testament" &c. Witnesses,
John Neighbors (and) Sarah Markham. January 3rd 1885. Before A.F. Wilson a
Justice of the Peace in and for Pike County, Arkansas appeared John
Neighbors one of the subscribing witnesses etc. who being first duly sworn
on oath stated, that he saw Simpson Adams subscribe said Will on the day of
its date for the uses and purposes therein expressed and that he and Sarah
Markham, the other subscribing witness, subscribed the same as witnesses at
the request of said Simpson Adams. One of the above witnesses John Neighbors
is at this time in very feeble health, so much so that it would endanger his
life to go to Murfreesboro and the other is a lady. Signed John Neighbors.
Sarah Markham sworn to &c. etc. January 3rd 1885 before me &c. A.F. Wilson,
J.P. No evidence showing that Sarah Markham appeared or was sworn.
