Negro Aged 90 Has Made 79 Cotton Crops
Steve Scoggins, old time slave negro, who was ninety years of age December
7th last year was a business visitor in Murfreesboro last Tuesday. "Steve"
stated that he made his first visit to Murfreesboro 80 years ago, and that
he had not missed a single year in 79 in making a cotton crop. The old negro
is still very active and depends upon the yearly cotton crop for his
livelihood.
