Bill of Sale of a Negro Girl from
Martin Guest to Jospeh Guest
Arkansas Territory,
Pike County,
October the 12th 1834
Know All Men By These Presents:
That I, Martin Guest have this day sold & delivered unto Joseph Guest, a
Certain Negro Girl named Eliza about eight years of age. For the
consideration of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid, the Receipt
whereof, is hereby acknowledged, to have & to hold s(ai)d property during
his, the said Joseph Guest, natural life, after which time the s(ai)d
property rightfully belong unto John Guest's heirs by Nancy Powel.
Signed & Sealed for the purposes herein contained.
