Russell Pierce Baker; Author, Baker, Russell Pierce; This census is a reconstruction of the destroyed-by-fire federal census of 1890 from the 1893 Pike County tax receipt book. This reconstruction contains the name of the tax payer, the legal description of his/her property (section, township, range), and the number of males (females could not vote at this time and thus did not pay the poll tax) in the household over 21 paying the poll tax. This listing also contains the names of people owning land in Pike County but living elsewhere.
