Stray Mare Taken Up.
Territory of Arkansas,
County of Pike,
Township of Thompson,
Taken up, by Peter Holliday, of the county and township, aforesaid. We, the
undersigned appraisers, do find the said mare to be a dark bay, with a black
mane and tail, no brands perceivable - judged to be four years old next
spring; and we do appraise said mare to Thirty Dollars.
Given under our hands, this 14th day of April, A.D. 1835.

Two Stray Horses taken Up.

Territory of Arkansas,
Sct.
County of Pike,
Thompson Township,
On this day, shown to us by, Harmon Brewer, two stray horses, of the
following description, viz: a dark chesnut sorrel, with a blaze in his
forehead, supposed to be six years old last spring, fifteen hands two inches
high. Also, a dark bay horse, with black mane and tail, and a large star in
his forehead, supposed to be six years old last spring, fifteen hands two
inches high; branded thus, R on the right shoulder. And we do appraise each
horse at Sixty-five Dollars.
Given under our hands, this 29th day of Sept., A.D. 1835.

A Stray Mare and Colt.
State of Arkansas,
County of Pike, Sct.
Township of Thompson,
Pursuant to an order to us directed, we have this day viewed a stray Mare
and Colt, show to us by John L. Barnes, and do find the same to be a Sorrel
Mare, about fourteen hands high, with some scars on each side of her thigh,
shod all round, brand thus, B , on the near shoulder, a blaze in her face,
flax mane and tail, right hind foot white half way up to her hock, and some
white spots on her back, about nine years old this spring; and the colt a
year old this spring, a bright bay, with a star in the forehead, left hind
foot white, black mane and tail; appraised to sixty dollars, by us.
Given under our hands, this 9th day of May, A.D. 1837.

Elijah Kelley, and find her to be a bay, with a large star in her forehead,
some small saddle-spots, right fore-foot some-what deformed by being hurt or
foot-evil, had been docked, no brands perceivable, fourteen hands and a half
high, seven years old, and we appraise said mare to thirty dollars.

ox, shown to us by John Blocker, of the township and county aforesaid, and
we do find the same to be a Red Speckled steer, looks like he would weigh
about five hundred and fifty pounds, branded thus 9, marked with a crop off
of the right ear and split in the left, and appraised to twenty-five
dollars, by us.
