Pike County, Arkansas and recorded in Abstract of Title Book Prior to 1890

Probate Book B page 1. April Term 1861. Wm. B. Speer as administrator of the
Estate of A.B. Orrick deceased in the matter of the sale of Real Estate.
Came said administrator by his attorney and filed his petition supported by
his affidavit stating and representing to the Court, that the claims allowed
by him exceeds the assets now in his hands &c. and further that said
deceased died seized and possessed of 280 acres of land in Pike County,
Arkansas; that Rebecca Orrick, widow of said deceased, has availed herself
of the benefit of the Homestead Exemption laws of the State and reserved
160 acres of said 280 acres for the use of herself and family; (and)
representing further that he will be unable to pay the claims &c. unless
said 120 acres be sold at public sale, due notice to be given, sale to be at
the Court House door &c. Etc., and he to report proceedings therein to the
next term of this Court. Probate Book B page 12. July Term 1861.
Administrator reports sale of said lands to Joseph Wingfield for
$366.33 1/3, he being the highest and last (best) bidder therefor. Probate
Book B page 179. July Term 1863. This day it being represented to the Court
that William B. Speer administrator of the Estate of A.B. Orrick had
departed this life. Whereupon John M. Davis is appointed public
administrator de bonis non of the Estate of A.B. Orrick deceased.
