Abstract made by an unknown abstractor about 1890 from original records of
Pike County, Arkansas and recorded in Abstract of Title Book Prior to 1890

Probate Book 1 page 182. July Term 1858. It having been represented to the
Court that English Jacobs, late of this (Pike) county, had died intestate
leaving an estate of considerable value which has remained unadministered
upon; and it further appearing that said estate was considerably indebted
and that the property was being wasted and mismanaged by the widow of said
deceased. Whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the sheriff of Pike
County (William Gilmer) in his capacity of public administrator take letters
of administration on said estate and proceed to administer the same
according to law. Probate Book 1 page 213. October Term 1858.
Administrator's bond for $900 presented and approved. Probate Book 1 page
229. October Term 1858. Administrator prays for and is granted permission to
sell personal property.
