In Vacation. April 23, 1855. Wesley Hoover is appointed Administrator de bonis non of the Estate of Caroline Cruise of Pike County, Arkansas who died intestate as it is said on or about July 1854. Bond for $1600 given. Probate Book 1 page 148. October Term 1857. Wesley Hoover administrator of the Estate of Caroline Cruise in the matter of the sale of Real Estate this day exhibited and filed his petition and affidavit in this Court alledging that the said Caroline Cruise deceased was seized and possessed in her own right at the time of her death (of) certain real estate or tracts or parcels of land lying and being in Pike County, Arkansas known and designated as the Northwest 1/4 (of the) Southwest quarter and Southwest 1/4 (of the) Southwest quarter (of) Section 29, Township 8, Range 26; and that said real estate cannot under present circumstances be avaliable to the said estate; and that said estate will be benefitted by a sale thereof because the price of public lands are so low, preemption rights &c., as to prevent the renting of lands upon advantageous terms; and that the money for which the land can be sold put at 10 per cent interest will yield to said estate and the persons therein interested more money than the increased value of said lands. Affidavit of James M. Evans a citizen of Pike County and a disinterested person is presented to verify the facts set forth in the petition of (the) Administrator. It is ordered by the Court that the said Wesley Hoover administrator as aforesaid proceed to sell and to sell at the Court House door in the Town of Murfreesboro, Pike County, Arkansas on December 5th 1857 between 9 o'clock a.m. and 3 o'clock p.m. of said day all the right &c. that the said Caroline Cruise deceased at the time of her death had in and to the said tracts of land, viz: NW 1/4 SW 1/4 and SW 1/4 SW 1/4, Section 29, Township 8, Range 26, Pike County, Arkansas; first giving 20 days public notice of time, place &c. of said sale; that he sell the same on twelve months time, purchaser or purchasers to give bond with approved security for the purchase money bearing 10 per cent interest from maturity until paid; and that he report (the) proceedings herein at the next term of this Court. Probate Book 1 page 168. April Term 1858. Administrator reports sale of said real estate to Thomas J. Conway for $192 he being the highest bidder therefor he complying with said decree in all things. Report ordered (to be) filed.
