Probate Book 1 page 16. In Vacation. April 23rd 1855. James S. Brewer is     
appointed Administrator de bonis non of the Estate of Absalom White late of  
Pike County, Arkansas who died testate about February 1854. Value of said    
Estate about $1.00. Heirs of (the) deceased (are) Serilda E. Brewer,         
Elizabeth Jane Huitt, James White, Thomas Masipsy White, John White, Absalom 
Branbridg(e) White (and) Ambrose Sevier White all of Pike County, Arkansas.  
Bond approved. Probate Book page 29. July 23, 1855. Inventory filed. Probate 
Book 1 page 121. January Term 1857. James S. Brewer administrator (of the)   
Estate (of) A. White deceased in the matter of the sale of Real Estate. Came 
the said James S. Brewer as said administrator and presented his petition in 
writing verified by affidavit stating the assets in his hands are not        
sufficient to settle the demands against said estate and representing that   
said deceased died seized and possessed of certain real estate in Pike       
County, Arkansas which it would be necessary to sell that he might pay the   
indebtedness of said estate; and praying the Court to grant and order for    
the sale of the Southwest 1/4 (of the) Southwest 1/4 (of) Section 8,         
Township 6, Range 26 and the Northwest 1/4 (of the) Northwest 1/4 (of)       
Section 17, Township 8, Range 26. The prayer of petitioner is granted. Sale  
to be made at the Court House door in Pike County, Arkansas on the 2nd day   
of March next (1857) hereafter on a credit of twelve months, the purchaser   
executing bond with good and sufficient security for the purchase money at   
10 percent interest from maturity; and that he execute to the purchaser all  
the necessary deeds to pass and convey title to said lands to the purchaser  
thereof; and if should the said lands fail to bring on that day 2/3 of its   
appraised value, it is further ordered that said administrator proceed to    
sell the same twelve months from that time to the highest and best bidder    
without reserve (and) on the same terms herein before mentioned. Probate     
Book 1 page 141. July Term 1857. Administrator reports sale of said real     
estate pursuant to the order of this Court to Gains B. Jackson for $350 he   
being the highest and best bidder therefor. Probate Book 1 page 460. January 
Term 1860. Administrator makes final settlement and prays that he may be     
discharged. Said final settlement is approved and confirmed by the Court and 
said Administrator is discharged.
