                             Mrs. Emily Stevens                              
                                                                             
Mrs. Emily Stevens, age 69 years, widow of the late P.T.D. Stevens, died at  
the home of her brother, Esq. W.E. Walston, of this city, Sunday (May 16,    
1926). Mrs. Stevens has been in ill health for some time and has only been   
in Murfreesboro a few weeks when she suddenly became worse Saturday, and     
died Sunday afternoon about 2:30. She is survived by one son, Ed Stevens,    
and one daughter Mrs. Dave Beavert. Funeral services and burial was had at   
Pleasant Home, Monday afternoon, Rev. D.W. Cornish officiating.
