We learn with sincere sorrow of the death of another of our oldest citizens,
widely known as one of the best men. He has closed a life of usefulness at a
ripe old age and has entered upon his reward.

                                    Died.

At his residence in Pike county, Ark., on the 14th day of February, 1869.
Elder William Kelley, who was 74 years, 1 month and 27 days old. He was one
of the first settlers of south Arkansas, having resided for more than 53
years, within the immediate vicinity of the place at which he died.

                    Sleep sweetly now from labors free,
                          Thy pilgrimage is o'er;
                   Til Christ appears then we shall see,
                          Thy face as heretofore!

                                     K.
