Territory of Arkansas,
County of Clark,
To All Whom These Presents Shall Come, Greeting:
Know ye, that I, Joseph Galbreath of the County and Territory aforesaid, for
divers good causes and considerations, me hereunto mooving (sic), have made,
ordained, authorized, nominated, and appointed, and by these presents do
make, ordain, and nominate and appoint, James Galbreath of the aforesaid
County and Territory, my true and lawfull attorney for me and in my name and
for my own proper use and benefit, to ask, demand, sue for, recover, and
receive all sum or sums, debts, dues and demands now due, or which may
become due and owing to me in The State of Louisiana. And further do impower
my said attorney to sue for, recover, and secure, all Lands belonging, or in
any way appertaining to me either by virtue of a Spanish Grant, bargain and
sale or otherwise. And, when such Lands shall be obtained, I do impower my
said Attorney to transfer all my right, title, Interest, and claim to such
Lands, either by deed or otherwise, to such person or persons as my said
attorney may or shall sell the Lands, aforesaid. The aforesaid Lands being
and are situated in the State of Louisiana. And, I moreover do impower my
said attorney to do all things whatsoever concerning the premises as fully
and in every respect as I myself might or could do were I personally present
at the doing, thereof. And attornies one or more under him for the purposes
aforesaid, to make and again at his pleasure to revoke, hereby ratifying and
confirming, and by these presents allowing whatsoever my said attorney shall
in my name lawfully do or cause to be done in and about the premises by
virtue of these presents.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 22nd September A.D.

This day Joseph Galbreath personally appeared before me, Henry L. Biscoe,
Clerk of the Circuit Court for the County and Territory, aforesaid, and
acknowledged the above power of attorney to be his voluntary act and deed
for the purposes therein mentioned and contained.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand & private seal, there
being no public, at office, this 22nd of September 1823.

Clark and Exofficio Recorder, do certify that the foregoing record is a true
