Negro Boy Killed by a Falling Tree
Was With His Father Cutting Wood Near Town
Snookum Holloway, a colored boy aged about 9 or 10 years, was almost
instantly killed Tuesday morning (March 15, 1927) near Murfreesboro. The
boy had gone to the woods with his father and another colored man Ollie
Wesson to cut wood. A small tree was cut accidently falling across the boy.
Wesson lifted the trunk from the boy, but the pressure of the tree hilled
him.
